ADAM - Hi. I'm a fan of "California Dreams", and I was wondering a couple things. This may sound silly, but I've always wanted to be in a TV show and then leave it midway through it's run. Seriously, I've wanted that, lol. But I was wondering what it felt like. The day you announced you weren't coming back, the weeks following it, even today. What are your feelings on the subject. Now that the show's on DVD, do you wish you were in more episodes? -Adam
BRENTLEY - So funny ... good question... I just accept it as the way it went down ! I've felt every emotion over the years ... happiness, relief, anger, saddness and ultimately acceptance. I hated doing California Dreams after the second season but was really grateful for the first two! If I ended up on another TV show I'd stay on it thru its run and have fun regardless. It's a good lesson not to bite a hand that feeds you, but at the time I didn't think about that. Now I just see it a good lesson in gratitude and not trying to control things too much! Someone told me once to "wear life like a loose suit" Thanks for the question Adam

ADAM- Wow, thanks for the fast response. Back in the day, in the Fall, I'd look through the TV Guide and it would have the cast photos for all the TNBC shows. I remember looking at the season 3 cast photo for "California Dreams" and thought "Where's Matt? He's the star of the show!" I also wondered if you would have come back for the finale. I was definately hoping to see the return of Matt and Jenny in the last show, simply because they were the characters that started the band.
I've told some friends before about me wanting to leave a show midway through and they think I'm weird for that. I guess maybe it's an ego thing. I'd want to go online and see threads like "This show was better with Adam" or "I missed Adam when he left" or so on, lol. Course my luck they would probably read "Adam Sucks! I'm glad he left" or "What an Improvement an Absent Adam Makes."
BRENTLEY - It's always good to hear people say, "Man the show was so much better when you were on it !" :/
ADAM - In the case of "California Dreams" it's true. I think that's the general consensus. Sure the show lasted a little longer without you, but look at M*A*S*H. That was so much better with McLean Stevenson and Wayne Rogers, yet they were only in the first 3 out of 11 seasons.
BRENTLEY - Thanks Adam.
