Brentley Gore performs The Beatles song "Blackbird" live. Look closely at this video, you can see Brentley's wife Magenta Harley-Gore in the background and at one point one of their little dogs, Dexter!

This original song was recorded 11 June 1968 in EMI Studios, with George Martin as the producer and Geoff Emerick as the audio engineer. It is a solo performance with McCartney playing a Martin D 28 acoustic guitar. The track includes recordings of a blackbird singing in the background.

ADAM - Hi. I'm a fan of "California Dreams", and I was wondering a couple things. This may sound silly, but I've always wanted to be in a TV show and then leave it midway through it's run. Seriously, I've wanted that, lol. But I was wondering what it felt like. The day you announced you weren't coming back, the weeks following it, even today. What are your feelings on the subject. Now that the show's on DVD, do you wish you were in more episodes? -Adam
BRENTLEY - So funny ... good question... I just accept it as the way it went down ! I've felt every emotion over the years ... happiness, relief, anger, saddness and ultimately acceptance. I hated doing California Dreams after the second season but was really grateful for the first two! If I ended up on another TV show I'd stay on it thru its run and have fun regardless. It's a good lesson not to bite a hand that feeds you, but at the time I didn't think about that. Now I just see it a good lesson in gratitude and not trying to control things too much! XM Cancellation HELP

I called XM at 12:19 PM (according to their own records) attempting to disconnect my subscription to the Responder package. I was transferred five times, told that the "cancellation department" was the only group who could terminate my account. But after each transfer, I was dumped back into the general customer service queue where after hold times of around ten minutes each I was told, yet again, that the "cancellation department" was what I needed. I talked with both American and Indian representatives, and I talked to one supervisor who gave me a 219 phone number and said I'd have to call myself. This turned out to be Barons (the manufacturer of the Wx-Worx box and data provider) and they had no idea why XM thought that they could perform any actions on my XM account.

So I started over. Finally, I reached someone who seemed to know what he was talking about, but of course he also could not disconnect my service. He transferred me again, and at long last I talked to the "cancellation department."

Here's the important part of this post: 800-998-7900 is the direct line to the deeply secretive XM cancellation department. I used about 75 cell phone minutes to get that number, so hopefully posting it here will save others some time. I'll be investigating any and all alternatives to XM.

Hey Out There~

So yesterday was pretty incredible! I had about 12 people over, me Mum came in from Nashville, and we feasted. The only problem with the whole day was that all my favorite peeps were not able to be there. However I was truly grateful for the ones who were able to make it. Mom "killed"(the good kind of killed) the dinner and the best part about having it at your house is ... the leftovers. I will be having a turkey sand. a bit later and dressing and sweet potatoes and pie, and whatever else I can find in there! All in all this week rocked and I was so glad to have family and friends around. I get so busy with my own endeavors that I often forget the importance of life outside of work ...! Hike today, movie later, then back to work ... Mom told me this week that she thought music was my mistress ... I do love her so ... Mom and Music

Writing is so very .... I have been writing copious amounts of music but I for the life of me, I am having an extremely difficult time finding anything to say! I feel like I have so much to say but it doesnt seem to come out. I will post something that Charles Bukowski wrote. It kinda makes me a bit angry but thats probably because it's true! I will not surrender to the writing devil but I will continue to say exactly what it is that I have to say... so until then ....

So you wanna be a writer?
if it doesn't come bursting out of you in spite of everything,
don't do it.
unless it comes unasked out of your heart and your mind and your mouth and your gut,
don't do it.
if you have to sit for hours staring at your computer screen
or hunched over your typewriter
searching for words,
don't do it.
if you're doing it for money or fame,
don't do it.
if you're doing it because you want women in your bed,
don't do it.
if you have to sit there and rewrite it again and again,
don't do it.
if it's hard work just thinking about doing it,
don't do it.
if you're trying to write like somebody else,
forget about it.

if you have to wait for it to roar out of you,

Eight is the sign of Abundance. I feel so abundant these days ... not because I have so much "stuff" but because it seems the longer I live, the more I appreciate what I have. I know that there will be days that don't give me this "feeling", but I hope those days will be overshadowed by these. Remember the good times and plan on having more!!

Hey Out There~

Just wanted to start this blog up and say hello! As of the past few weeks, I have been working on systemtizing all of my songs and projects that I started over the past 5 years. I have made some good progress and made many of the songs available on my brentgore.com site. This process has been good for me in so many ways; mainly because I get to tie up so many loose ends. I look forward to resolving all of these unfinished projects, make them all available and get on with the rest of "it".
